King of Pentacles
Outer sovereignty in the embodied life
The card
The King of Pentacles travels the world in search of wisdom and his next conquest, typically wandering far from home and kingdom. Dressed for travel and supported by vast resources, a hand-written note in his hand is all he carries from the place in which he came.
At his best, the king’s sword remains sheathed and his chest decorated with remembrances of the past. He is diplomatic, approachable, unencumbered, creative, attentive, and wise.
At his worst, he is a buffoon who honors only himself—political, scheming, and shallow.
How can your influence become more generous and responsible through body, labor, resources, home, and inheritance?

The archetype in motion
The suit's power becomes visible authority, bringing both influence and responsibility. Here it moves through body, labor, resources, home, and inheritance. Its gift becomes available when the reader can hold both its conscious expression and the less comfortable possibility carried in its shadow.
