The card
Competence earns authority only when it builds conditions in which other people can also become capable. The King makes decisions that outlive the mood in which they were made. Jung's senex brings order to work, craft, and association; its shadow is rigidity and the belief that control is identical to wisdom. Power has posture; wisdom remains an optional upgrade.
Where must authority become accountable stewardship?
For today: make one decision that gives another person clearer authority rather than more dependence.
