Ace of Spades

Descartes tore down everything he thought he knew and rebuilt from a single unshakeable point: I think, therefore I am. The Ace is that same demolition and that same first brick — before the system, before the argument, there is only the sudden, total certainty that thought itself is possible. Jung's logos announces itself here in its purest, least complicated form: the raw will to know, before knowledge has decided what it's for. It's exhilarating precisely because it hasn't yet had to prove anything. Just don't mistake the spark for the fire. A first idea, however dazzling, is still only a moment — and moments, however true, are not yet a philosophy.
