The card

The Greeks sent their most curious minds abroad deliberately — Herodotus wandering half the known world collecting stories, convinced that wisdom worth having was rarely found by staying home. The King of Diamonds carries that same restlessness: eyes always on the horizon, ego decorated with the memory of everywhere he's already been rather than where he currently stands. Jung's senex here is a traveling one — wise, resourced, generous with what he's gathered, but never quite rooted anywhere long enough to be fully known. At his best, he is diplomatic, attentive, and wise. At his worst, he performs the wisdom without doing the harder, more vulnerable work of actually staying present for anyone.

What wisdom have you gathered from far away that you haven't yet brought fully home?

For today: be genuinely present with someone nearby, rather than already thinking of the next conquest.
