The small token matters because affection becomes credible when it enters matter: a touch, note, cup of coffee, or remembered detail. Two holds self and other, appetite and duty, across the same immaculate table. For Jung, opposites create psychic energy; in affection, home, and projection, the task is to hold their tension until a less obvious choice appears. Consensus is unavailable, but conversation has survived.
