The historical signal
In the early-twentieth-century “Modern Use” system, this card concerns a longer interval before results can be read.
The card
The interval is not dead time but incubation, the unphotogenic stage in which craft becomes reliable. This is Jung's transcendent function at work in work, craft, and association: not compromise, but a third position born from sustained friction. A committee has formed; astonishingly, it may help.
What third possibility appears when you stop rehearsing the same two positions?
For today: give one unfinished skill twenty uninterrupted minutes of practice.
Historical kernel adapted from the public-domain ‘Modern Use of 52 Cards’ in Telling Fortunes by Cards; reflective interpretation original.
