Two of Spades

Every idea in an Enlightenment salon eventually met the same question: does it survive being spoken aloud to someone who disagrees? The Two is the private garden before that test — thought still unweeded, still all potential, luxuriant and slightly out of control. Jung would call this a mind flooded by its own unconscious material, more fertile than it is yet organized. The old caution about hunger applies precisely here: pull the ideas up too early, half-formed, and you consume them raw — seduced by the daydream, then punished by how little of it survives daylight. Some of what's growing here is genuinely brilliant. Some of it is only weeds that talk convincingly. Tending, not harvesting, is the actual discipline this card is asking for.
