Seven of Spades

An idea kept private in the Enlightenment was still, technically, only a private opinion — it became knowledge, in the fullest sense, only once it entered the Encyclopédie, only once it belonged to everyone who could read. The Seven marks that same crossing: thought fully leaving the sketchbook to become something built, useful, and no longer entirely the thinker's own. Jung would say the idea has individuated — separated from its origin enough to have a life independent of the person who first had it. This is no longer a private pursuit. It's a gift now, and gifts, once given, carry real responsibility for what they'll be used for.
